Latin Name: Cinnamomum cassia (also known as Cinnamomum aromaticum)
Actions: Carminative, Stimulant, Astringent, Antimicrobial, Blood sugar modulator, Emmenagogue. Known to warm and stimulate sluggish digestion, promote warmth and blood flow to the periphery, and support the clearing of cold-type congestion. Traditionally used to warm the womb and promote a healthy menstrual flow. Also known to support the digestive system, circulatory system, reproductive system, and respiratory system.*
Caution: Contains higher levels of coumarins, which may be harmful to the liver in high doses or long-term use. Limit daily use if using regularly, or switch to Ceylon cinnamon (C. verum) for long-term consumption. Use with caution in large doses during pregnancy, on blood thinners, or diabetic medications.*
